As we work towards literacy for each student and grapple with numerous state standards, mathematics teachers across the District are engaged in collaborative dialogue around what is important for our students to know and be able to do.
  • A K-12 Essential Learnings Task Force has been convened to identify those learnings crucial to each grade level in mathematics, writing, and reading.
  • On the secondary mathematics front, representatives from each middle school and high school are focusing on Algebra. Exemplar documents have been aligned to state standards and augmented with additional sample problems for grades 6 through Algebra.

The San Diego County Office of Education has published their 2003-2004 calendar listing upcoming professional development opportunities. Click here for more information.

The SAT scheduled for March 2005 is undergoing changes. To find out more how these changes with effect the type of questions asked of students, read the New SAT and Your School System document on the College Board web site.
