Here are the Oak Trees and the ground where acorns fall.  Acorns were an important food source for the Kumeyaay Indians.   they could make sha-wee, an acorn mush.  They would save the acorns in a sho-kwin, a basket, for the years that there weren't very many acorns.  The Kumeyaay Indians were always prepared.
