• The following Parent Resource Guides were created to correspond to the new Elementary Progress Reports.  For each grade level standard we've included several links that will provide instruction and practice opportunities for students.

• For additional math support that aligns with our new textbooks visit: Math Expressions and California Math Online- You'll find glossaries of terms, e-manipulatives, games to support learning and more.

• Belle Plaine School District in Minnesota also has links for student practice by goal area and RIT range. 
   

• Reading:  Teachers have found valuable lessons to support a variety of reading RIT ranges on the Florida Center for Reading Research Site under "student center activities"

Thinkfinity

• Thinkfinity is an excellent site that will sort through hundreds of valuable resources to find lesson plans as well as resources for guided, and independent practice. A search for resources to teach biographical writing produced an excellent student resource that supports student understanding of summarizing, main idea, and more:  Bio-Cube.  You can refine any search by grade level, standards, subject, Thinkfinity Partners or resources (audio, interactivities, lesson plans, primary sources, videos, or worksheets.) 

ReadWriteThink

•  ReadWriteThink, sponsored by the International Reading                 Association and the National Council of Teachers of English is an
  excellent site with resources organized by grade level, resource type, learning objective, or theme.  If you search through their interactive resources for students, each is linked to multiple lessons to introduce the concept needed before students practice skills

The 2Learn.ca Society

• The 2Learn edTech society in Canada is committed to research, develop, and share the best educational resources with teachers. Their site has excellent learning for all subjects and ages.

• PBS has launched the PBS Teacher site, a new education portal for teachers. It has thousands of lesson plans, professional development options, videos, blogs, and more.

Teaching EdTech Literacy

• Teaching students to evaluate resources for credibility and to understand effective ways to harness the vast resources available on the web are critical elements of all we do in education today. Visit Jamie McKenzie's website for some great lessons, student-based projects, and insights to improve our practice in this area.

• The University of Illinois at Chicago has a great interactive tool to teach students how to do effective online searches.

Teachers Network

• Based in New York, the Teachers Network is an alliance of education professionals (k-12) dedicated to disseminating best-practices throughout the world of public school education. You'll find lesson plans, research, grant opportunities, internet curriculum resources, and more.

The Internet4Classrooms website by  Susan Brooks and Bill Byles is one of the most comprehensive Education Portals on the web.
