a pinch of wisdom from the masters, a dash of example online activities, and a pound of
many teacher's classroom experience, and what do you get: The Craft of Teaching with the
Web. This course has been designed in four one-week modules, and each module requires 3 hours to complete. You will be part of a team, so it is important that you are willing to work with other teachers to both expand your "craft" and lend support to others. Here is a quick outline of each module.
The goal is to get to know our team, evaluate your own skills, and investigate the ideal Web-based learning environment.
Any good project starts with a strong foundation. Judi Harris will help you learn about Virtual Architecture. You will be looking at an example project, and applying the "worth it test" to your own work.
Different architectural structure will produce different student learning. You will be evaluating several different activities for their learning outcomes. You will also begin developing a topic idea for your own classroom.
You may decide to start a project from scratch or find an existing one. Either way, there are many tools on the web that can enhance your experience. You will be reviewing these few applications.
