BACKGROUND: GEICO Direct is the sixth largest property/casualty insurance company in the nation, founded in 1936 and acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in 1996.  Our Western Regional Headquarters is located in the Poway Business Park.  GEICO is dedicated to providing quality personal auto insurance services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. 

DESCRIPTION: GEICO is committed to supporting Poway High School and being a responsible corporate citizen.  They are excited to share their business knowledge and resources with the students and staff of Poway High School.

GOALS:

	Provide career education
	Increase community involvement

Provide exposure to the insurance industry

ACTIVITIES:

	Provide mock interviews and other career development classes
	Invite students to the GEICO facility for Job Shadow Days
	Participate in school activities and programs
	Provide facilities for staff in-services
	GEICO will make staff available to team teach lessons with Poway High teachers
	Provide teacher shadowing opportunities
	Participate in Principal for a Day
