Week of October 27th Monday- Read Chapter 11 ( Pages 393-423 ) in your textbook and answer the attached questions . You need to bring a copy to class on November 6th AND Submit your answers to me through Safe Assign by 7:00 am next Thursday November 6th. (4ET-40)
Print up a copy of the notes on how World War I began and why the U.S. eventually entered the war. Review the notes and make sure you bring them to class with you! Lab Day- We will start with the research paper. We will then have a lecture on imperialism and WWI. We will go over the notes which detail how World War I began and why the U.S. eventually entered the war. As time permits, we will listen to up to 4 songs from World War I. For each song we hear you will complete the following assignments: 1- When The Lusitania Went Down- Write a 150 word editorial, which urges the U.S. to enter W.W.I. Use at least 3 references from the song and be sure to underline those references. 2- I Didn't Raise My Boy To Be A Soldier- Write a 150 word editorial, which argues against U.S. entry into W.W.I. Use at least 3 references from the song and be sure to underline those references. 3-Over There-Create a colorful propaganda poster which encourages Americans to join the Armed Forces. Use at least 3 references from the song and be sure to underline those references. 4-There's A Vacant Chair In Every Home Tonight- Create a colorful propaganda poster which opposes U.S. entry into W.W.I. Use at least 3 references from the song and be sure to underline those references. History Social Science Standard 11.4.5 Friday- Today is devoted to your research paper. You should be doing research on line or at the library. Don't forget you also have your text book assignment from Monday to complete for next week. |
