Week Of May 4th Monday- Continue working on The Road To Equality. Tuesday- One of the great struggles of the 1960's was Lyndon Johnson's attempt to balance the war in Vietnam with an extensive social reform program. Johnson's program is known as The Great Society. Read this famous speech presented by L.B.J. in 1964. Then, answer these questions in your own words and Turn in your response to me Hard Copy on Thursday. (P21-20) Lab Day- In class: We will start with a test on The Vietnam Conflict. Then we will be working with your "Road to Equality timelines. Your timelines are due today! Please bring your hard copy! I you are absent, make sure I get your hard copy on time or email me on time. (Bring your hard copy and drop it in my box as soon as you return in addition to the email. Thanks!) Friday- One of the most famous photographers of the Civil Rights era was Charles Moore. Today, you will be viewing some of his work. There are a total of 20 photos. Study all of the photographs and choose the five that would make you stop what you were doing and want to learn more about the events surrounding that photograph. In at least 2 sentences for each, tell me which photographs you chose and why they stood out to you. Also, for each photo that you chose, include one question that you would want to ask any of the people in the photo.
