Monday- Your chapter assignment is due today. Standard 11.11.2
Tuesday- JFK Assignment: Although John Kennedy served barely 3 years as President, he left a lasting legacy for the United States. Two organizations which were created under Kennedy were The Peace Corps and VISTA. In a paragraph, summarize the goals of The Peace Corps and the goals of VISTA. In a second paragraph, provide at least 2 examples which show how the organizations have achieved their goals. After you complete this assignment read about J.F.K. and his achievements in the area of Civil Rights and answer the following question. How did J.F.K. help bring about equality for minorities in the United States? Provide at least two examples explaining JFK's achievements. E-mail your responses to both assignments by 7:00am on Thursday.
Lab Day- We will be watching the movie Dear America- Letters Home From Vietnam. In class you will write a half page "letter home" as if you were a US soldier in Vietnam. You may also choose to write your half page as a journal entry.

Friday- Work on timeline project (The Road To Equality.) I am including links to a pair of lectures on the civil rights movement. You might want to listen to these as you work on your Road to Equality. The First lecture will provide you with background information on the Civil Rights movement. It is the plight of African-Americans. Civil Rights Changes is the second lecture and it reviews many of the Civil Rights advancements which have taken place.
