Tuesday - Today we will be studying our quest to go from sea to shining sea. In order to visualize how we fulfilled our Manifest Destiny, we will view an animated atlas. This is a 10 minute movie that shows how the United States went from the Atlantic to the Pacific. We will then create a list of factors that pushed emigrants out of Europe and pulled them to the United States. We will finish the day by studying the faces of immigrants by looking through an article dealing with immigration at the turn of the century. History Social Science Standard 11.2.2
Remember, chapter 7 is due on Lab Day.
Lab Day- Today we will start the day by going on a virtual field trip to Ellis Island. You are to answer The Ellis Island Experience questions. Be sure to visit all parts of the exhibit. (A-26) Next, we will look at new inventions that were created between 1850 and 1900. Finally, we will be studying songs about different immigrant groups. History Social Science Standard - 11.2
Friday- Today,
you will be viewing 10 commemorative stamps from before 1900. Each stamp has a question and a link which will lead you to the answer. (A-20pts)
