is due today 4-15-09.
Make sure you answer
ALL
questions on the back of page 66. Many numbers have more than one
question to answer....so please make sure you answer all part of the
question if you want to earn full credit.
***Results of the Urinalysis Lab
LB p 63 - 66. Data tables: For Data Table 2, Patient
1 tested positive for sugar. For Data Table 3, Patient 2 should have been the
only patient to test
positive for protein. For Data Table 4, (The chart was on the
board if you missed class, here are the results) Patient 1 tested positive for
crystals, Patient 2 for red blood cell casts, and Patient 3 white blood
cell casts. Everything else is negative.
Make sure you answer
ALL
questions on the back of page 66. Many numbers have more than one
question to answer.

MIDTERM TEST:
Circulatory, Respiratory and Excretory Systems 4-15-09. This week
will be dedicated to preparing for this Test. Study all notes, worksheets
and Diagrams. Diagrams on the test will include: Heart, Respiratory
System, Excretory System, and Nephron. If you have not collected all of
your work, please stop by J-8 and pick up all papers pertaining to this test.
***We will review in class before the Test. In
particular, we will go over the Kidney and the functional unit of the Kidney-
the Nephron.
Use the following Study Guide
to prepare for the Midterm:

Study Guide Due 4-15-09 (for points!)
Note: Circulatory #13,
Respiratory #8 and Excretory #13 -you will not need to answer on paper...these
questions are referring to the diagrams that you will need to know for the test.
Note: Notes cannot be used on
the Midterm
Circulatory, Respiratory, Excretory Systems
Study Guide:
Circulatory System:

cells)
- What is the function of the RBC’s? What important
protein allows the blood to carry oxygen?
- What is the function of the WBC’s?
- Name the blood vessels and their function.

lowest? Where does the actual exchange of gases, wastes and nutrients take
place?

thru the heart starting with the Superior Vena Cava and ending with the
Inferior Vena Cava.
Respiratory System:
- Give the sequence of the flow of air through the
respiratory system. Start at the nasal cavity and end at the alveoli. For
each structure give the function.
- Which vertebrate body system is most closely
associated functionally with respiration?
- The movement of oxygen and carbon dioxide is
accomplished by simple diffusion. Be able to explain this statement.

deadly to humans?
- Describe inhalation and exhalation in terms of
pressure and movement of diaphragm.
- Define these terms: Tidal Volume, Vital Capacity
