Online Policies Attendance: The online class meets once a week on a lab day, unless otherwise stated by the instructor. Please attend every single class as valuable information will be given in each session. Plan doctor and dentist visits so that they do not fall on your lab day during this class. Because the class meets so infrequently, students cannot make up for lost points in discussions, Socratic Seminars, etc. Be sure to attend every class. If you do miss a class for any reason whatsoever, it is your responsibility to meet with me to make it up. You will have until the following week on Tuesday at 3:00 to do so. Missing more than one class will cost you 20 points off your grade at the end of the semester per class missed. PLEASE REALIZE THAT MISSING ONE CLASS IS THE EQUIVALENT OF MISSING AN ENTIRE WEEK OF SCHOOL. Tardies: Unlike other classes where you have up to 4 tardies before reaching tier 2, the online class allows for only one to receive a phone call home. Upon your second tardy you will be assigned Friday detention and will move to tier 2. Even if they're excused, a tardy is a tardy, DO NOT COME LATE TO CLASS. YOU ONLY HAVE TO BE ON TIME AND PRESENT ONCE A WEEK. DO NOT ABUSE THIS! Homework Policies: Homework is to be completed by every lab day and brought to class on the day you attend in a printed format if typed, or on a jump drive/ disc if it is a Power Point presentation, etc. Realistically, every student has one week to complete their assignments as work is posted a minimum of one week ahead of time, on most occasions homework is online months ahead of time. Plan your time well, as assignments are considered late if not brought to class on your day of attendance. Even if you are sick and excused, work is still to be either emailed to me, or dropped off in my box in the faculty room by your class time, otherwise it is considered late. The second you enter class for the week without your work, it is considered late. NO LATE WORK IS ACCEPTED. Tests: Tests will be given every week and generally consist of at least 20-25 questions from the material provided. Students who miss a test will be given exactly one week to make up the test; after one week it cannot be made up. Class input: Just like college, leave me with a good impression. Consistently showing up late, napping in class, yapping with others during your once-a-week class and having a poor attitude will NOT help your grade.
