  •   TK Interest Wait List Begins MARCH 1st for 2017-2018

Parents of children with a fifth birthday between September 2, 2017 and December 2, 2017 do not need to place your child’s name on the wait list!  Your child is eligible for TK and the wait list is not necessary; you only need to enroll your child at your home school during their registration in May. Parents of children with a fifth birthday between June 1st and September 1st, 2017 who wish to enroll their child into a TK class, MUST place their name on a District Interest Wait List. Select "TK Interest Wait List" link  to complete and submit the required form to put your child’s name on the list.  TK waitlist assignments will not be made until June or later, you will still need to enroll your child into your home school Kindergarten program while awaiting TK availability confirmation. Should a TK opening be available, the assigned TK school site will notify parents on the Interest List. The parent will then be given 48 hours to enroll. Due to increased numbers of students required to enroll in TK, please note space is very limited and will be determined on a first-come, first served basis.

Character Counts - This month’s focus is FAIRNESS

Fairness is one of the most difficult Pillars of Character to define clearly. People often see decisions that help them as being “fair” and those that do not as being “unfair.” Fairness is often a matter of perception. Although some decisions are clearly unfair, the fact is there is usually more than one fair choice. Being fair means you:
    • Listen to others and try to understand what they are feeling and saying.
    • Consider all the facts, including opposing views.
    • Use the same standards for everyone in the same situation.
