Prop C Construction Start Date : June 2009
Prop C Estimated Completion Date: August 2009
Poway and Mt. Carmel High Schools are the first and
largest schools to undergo various renovations, modernizations,
and additions because of Proposition U funding.
The work was accomplished in three phases, with
final completion in October 2007. These phases
were structured to ensure that priority work listed in
the Proposition U list of facility improvements was accomplished
first. The softball field work in Phase I was the preparatory work for Phase II construction
of the new 80,000 sq.ft. two-story classroom addition which replaced existing re-locatable classrooms. Phase II work included exterior renovations in existing buildings. Phase III work included extensive renovations in existing buildings.
Poway High School was built in 1962 and has a current
