Deer Canyon Elementary School was built in 1990.

Phase I technology and playground Improvements are complete.
Phase II projects planned at Deer Canyon, include:
- Utility upgrade/efficiency improvements
- Renovate/upgrade restrooms as needed
- Renovate computer laboratory
- Food service renovation/compliance
- Site improvement for safety and code compliance
- Add/upgrade furniture and instructional equipment
- Upgrade fire alarm systems
