San Diego Metropolitan - July 2003
A joint venture of PinnacleOne and Douglas E. Barnhart,
Inc. has been awarded a program, project and construction
management contract from the Poway Unified School District.
The companies will oversee the planning and execution
of a $251 million program to repair, renovate and expand
24 of the district's schools.
Nearly $200 million of funding for the projects is made
possible by the November 2002 passage of Proposition
U by Poway Unified School District voters.
The program will replace portable classrooms, upgrade
plumbing and electrical systems, install more mechanical
systems, bring school sites into compliance with safety
and access codes, and build permanent classrooms.
NTD Architects has been selected as the architect for
the first five school projects. The district plans to
start construction of the first four projects in summer
2004.
Representing the joint venture are Jerry King, Mark
Claussen, Layne Arthur and Latrell Cronister. Doug Mann
and Mark Miller are representing the district, along
with Superintendent Don Phillips, Deputy Superintendent
John Collins and a citizens over-sight committee. |
