If you experience a loss of PUSD active employee health benefits and you do not meet the requirements specified in your bargaining unit agreement to qualify for retiree health benefits, you may be offered COBRA continuation of benefits. COBRA is a federal law which states that you (and any covered eligible spouse or child) can continue your same health plans (with the exception of life insurance) for a limited period of time on a self pay basis.
