Many schools/teachers
in Poway use one or more District writing tests to diagnose the writing skills of
students and measure growth during the year. Below, find examples of tests used
in the past, directions, for how they were administered and scored, prompts and
samples of actual student writing. We hope these samples clarify one way writing
is measured in Poway and what District expectations are as students develop their
writing skills from year-to-year.
