•   Course Selection

    Throughout the month of March, counselors will be meeting with students to discuss their course selection for the 2017-2018 school year. The course request window will be open March 17-31.   •   Teacher of the Year 2017

    Congratulations to Mr. Keith Opstad for being named as one of Poway Unified School District's Teacher of the Year. Click here for the press release to learn more about Mr. Keith Opstad (WVHS), Mr. Mark Lantsberger (DNHS), and Susan Michelena (RBHS); the three PUSD District teachers of the year.

  •   Community College Field Trip

    Seniors, As you consider your options for next year, consider attending a community college to reach your career goals down the line. We will be providing a field trip to Miramar College on April 19th to have students take their placement assessments, go on a tour of the campus, learn about the resources and programs available, and create an educational plan with a counselor. See Ms. Bloomfield in the Wolverine Center for more information. Deadline to participate: March 31st.

  •   Senior Disneyland

    The senior Disneyland trip is scheduled for Saturday, April 1st. The deadline to purchase the event and submit the waiver has passed (Friday, March 24th). Participating students will meet at Westview at 7:00 am to board the buses. Their ticket will allow them entrance into either Disneyland or CA Adventure for the day. They will then be asked to meet back at our bus location at 8:30 pm. We will depart Anaheim at 9:00 pm and arrive back at Westview between 10:30 pm-11:00 pm. Students will be handed curfew passes as they get off the bus. More detailed information will be sent home via email to all families of participating seniors Wednesday, March 29th.

  •   Online Mental Health Resource Center

    Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) developed their club website to include an online Mental Health Resource Center. The resource center has a variety of topics and then resources that can help an individual who wants more information about the topic and resources to get help.

  •   2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

    Five Westview High School students have been recognized with a Regional Award in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. These students were among nearly 330,000 works submitted nationwide. Our students continue to excel and positively represent PUSD.

  •   Young Art 2017: Beyond the Ordinary

    The Westview High School Visual Arts Department is pleased to announce that the following students will have their artwork on display at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park for Young Art 2017: Beyond the Ordinary. The exhibit will present works by Kindergarten through 12th grade San Diego County students that explore the creative interpretations of the still life and runs from April 15, 2017-May 28, 2017.
