and its teachers. AP testing will begin in early May and this year we have
over 1000 students taking over 2000 AP tests! Also, Kathy Bloomfield and the
entire Counseling Team did an outstanding job rolling out the online Course
Request Forms and they are nearly finished with the 10th grade counseling
appointments. We are still awaiting budget information but should know more
in the next couple of weeks.
President’s Report
Sue thanked everyone for coming and informed of an upcoming advocacy
activity in which Westview and all PUSD schools will participate. It is

Principal’s Report
Dawn Kastner welcomed parents to Term 2 Back to School Night. She
noted that parents will be able to see some of the results from the
fundraising efforts of the Foundation as well as the ENS Department.
Computers and technology have been purchased which bring us back to where we
were last year. There is a beautiful new trophy case at the entry to the
gymnasium. ENS funds will be used for improvements to the Fitness Lab since
the rope course was not feasible. Also, Westview and PUSD know that many
families in our district and community are experiencing hardship. Please let
the school know if you are aware of students or families having financial
difficulties as there are many avenues of assistance available such as
reduced fee lunches and fee waivers for Advanced Placement tests.
President’s Report
President Sue Hasselmann welcomed everyone and thanked them for
attending. She reminded parents that it is not too late to join the PTSA
this year!
The budget news is still pretty grim and without resolution. Parents
can stay updated via the Westview PTSA and PUSD websites.
Some recent good news is that two Westview student’s Reflections
entries were sent to the California State PTA for judging (Hayden Boal in
the Film category and Ashley Peterson in Literature).
The Westview PTSA just approved staff grants in the amount of $3200
to 12 staff members to benefit staff and students.
Correction to Auditor’s Report
