Letter
From our Health Tech:
Welcome to another year of school
here at SRES. For those who do not know about our Health
Office, I am the Health Tech. I am not a nurse. My background
is as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy and a parent of three very
active now young adults who were in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts,
baseball, football, track, swimming etc. Your children will be
treated as I would want my children to be treated here at
school.
We have access to Resource Nurses who
help answer any questions we may have about your student's
medical diagnosis as well as anything that may arise that I am
unfamiliar with or need assistance with. Our Resource Nurse is
Mrs. Michelle Gerrity, RN.
- All NEW students,
Kindergarten and 1st graders are all required by
state law to have on file an Oral Health Assessment and
Physical/up to date immunizations for entrance to a
California Public School. If you have any questions about
these forms please feel free to call me. I will get you the
information and assist in whatever I can.
- When a child looses a tooth
it is very scary for them and they look forward to coming to
the health office to get a tooth necklace as well as signing
the giant tooth on the refrigerator. There is also a
special TOOTH FAIRY HOTLINE for San Diego County residents
only. The number is (619)275-7195. the child gets to talk
to the tooth fairy.
- Medication at school MUST
have a Doctor Signature. Please do not send your child to
school with medication. If they need to recieve anything
including over the counter medications it is required by law
to have doctor and parent signed Authorization to Administer
Medication. This is for the safety of the students. For any
questions regarding this policy please call me to answer
your questions. Some medication would be : Motrin, Tylenol,
Albuterol, Inhalers of all types, Eye drops, Nose sprays,
antibiotic ointments, Antibiotics(needed during the school
day), Benadryl,etc.
Again Welcome to
SRES and the Health Office
