VOLUNTEERS

We strongly encourage parents to volunteer at Rolling Hills, supporting one of PUSD's Core Values of "Parents as Partners". Over 200 parents contribute their time and talents to increase the quality of learning and enrich the environment at our school each year.

Volunteer opportunities include working in the classrooms, shelving books in the library, decorating the MPR bulletin boards, counting and distributing fliers, copying, collating, and much more. There are several procedures to follow in order to begin volunteering at Rolling Hills ...
(All forms are in pdf format and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to access them. )

To ensure the safety of our students, the Poway Unified School District has the following requirements for all volunteers on our campus and helping in the classroom.
NOTE: If you are cleared in the 2008-2009 school year, you only need to complete item # 1. Otherwise, you need to complete all four items below:

1. Print and complete the Rolling Hills Volunteer Opportunities 2009-2010 form by clicking here.

2. The PUSD Level 1 Megan's Law Background Check form must be completed and signed for all volunteers on any PUSD campus. This will allow the PUSD to check your name against the "Megan's Law" database of our local Sheriff's department. You may print out the form by clicking here.

3. All volunteers need to read, sign, and return the Volunteer Code Of Conduct to be eligible to volunteer on our campus. You may print out the form by clicking here.

4. The California Education Code requires all persons working with students be free of tuberculosis. Proof of a current negative TB test must be on file with our school. A TB screening is valid for 4 years from the date of the test. Free clinics are offered throughout the school year and a list of times and locations are below. You must stop by the school office to obtain a "Volunteer Verification Form" BEFORE showing up at one of the TB Skin Test Clinics. Please see TB Skin Test Clinic below.

These clinics are open to current PUSD employees and volunteers ONLY.
The TB Test provided by Poway is a two part process ~ skin test and the reading of the test. You MUST attend both days for your test to be valid. You may contact Health Services with any questions at 858-668-4132. NOTE: If you are acutely ill, have been diagnosed with tuberculosis, have had live measles vaccine within 2 months, or are undergoing immunosuppressive therapy, please contact a Resource Nurse at Health Services at 858-668-4132 PRIOR to attending a clinic.
