Over the course of the 2005-06 school year, the Poway Unified School District convened a focus group to participate in a series of meetings (8 in all) designed to explore the role Career-Technical Education can/should play in high school reform, build our collective knowledge base regarding how Career-Technical Education supports academic content standards and college readiness, and to study and learn from best practices.

These activities culminated in the development of a new vision and a meaningful strategic plan for Career-Technical Education in the Poway Unified School District.

On this site, you will find information about the focus group activities, the key learnings, recommended readings, and the products that resulted from the effort (vision and work plan).

We are continuing to refine our work plan, and we welcome your comments and recommendations.
