The Regional Occupational Program (ROP) is a tuition-free, professional development program that offers Career-Technical training to anyone 16 years of age or older. Through ROP courses, students are prepared to meet current business and industry needs and standards. The ROP is a statewide, public program. It is the premier provider of high quality, state-of-the-art workforce preparation.

Poway Unified School District contracts with the San Diego County ROP to provide career-technical courses in our community.

The mission of the San Diego County ROP is to prepare a diverse population, 16 years of age and older, for further education, employment and occupational changes.

All ROP courses are reviewed annually by an advisory committee. By law, at least half of the members of the advisory committee must be from a related business or industry. This annual review of the course curriculum, course outlines, equipment, facilities, and labor market information ensures that the ROP courses offered provide current and relevant training that businesses need now. If you are interested in serving on an advisory committee for Poway ROP, please contact Trish Hakola at thakola@powayusd.com or (858) 668-4005.
