Poway Adult School - Adult Education

Adult Education Courses for Every Interest

Poway Adult School offers a wide variety of Adult Education classes every quarter.

The State of California (through the California Department of Education) provides funding to support Poway Adult School courses in the following areas:

  • Adult Basic Education (ABE)
  • Adult Secondary Education (ASE)
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship
  • Career-Technical Education (CTE) and Apprenticeships
  • Parenting, Family, and Consumer Awareness
  • Older Adults

In addition to these state-supported classes, Poway Adult School also operates a wide variety of community education classes which are supported entirely by student fees. These fee-based classes include foreign languages, computers, cooking, arts and crafts, areas of special interest, fitness and dance, SAT preparation, and a variety of online/distance learning options.

The teachers who instruct the state supported classes hold California Teaching Credentials. All Poway Adult School teachers are professionals in their field.

Adult Education classes are typically open to students 18 years and older (unless otherwise noted).
