CELEBRATING: AFRICA

During the month of January, 2008, BHMS is celebrating the continent of Africa,
the countries of Africa, and the many peoples of Africa.

In the mornings, before school starts, the hallways are filled with the music of Africa.

Our hallways are lined with many of the flags of Africa.

Stop by the school library to see the great collections of African items and artifacts brought in by students and staff.

Students and staff who were born in Africa have been invited to put their photo next to the country of their birth on a large map of Africa in the counseling office window.

Other information:

We will begin displaying laminated art work and posters of Africa beginning the week of January 14.  Please encourage students to check them out.  Several times during the month students will have an opportunity to do African art in the Bobcat Center during lunchtime.  One of our parents (with an art background) will be supervising and assisting students.  We will be announcing these dates over the PA.  The first opportunity will be on January  15 and 16 during lunch in the Bobcat Center.
