A big SHOUT OUT to Jeremy Wawrzyniak for representing Abraxas at the Back To School meeting of Poway USD administrators, staff, community and PTA representatives. This year’s keynote speaker was Marc Prensky, a speaker who is known as a futurist in the areas of technology and education. Marc is the author of Don’t Bother Me Mom- I’m Learning; How Computer and Video Games Are Preparing Your Kids for Twenty-first Century Success—and How You Can Help! and Digital Game-Based Learning. Jeremy participated as a panel member for a question and answer session from a student perspective. Jeremy gave them the “Abraxas” perspective and was a great student representative. He is currently a member of the Bridge Program and enrolled at Palomar Community College. Jeremy will be a December Grad and hopes to continue on at Community College. He is tri-lingual in English, German and Polish. Jeremy also participated in the S.A.F.E. Center presentation to the Saxton Foundation in July, where he was instrumental in securing funding for the Center. Way to go Jeremy! From the S.A.F.E. Center |
